You will soon see refund dates if you claimed the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) or Additional Child Tax Credit (ACTC) on your tax return.

The main payout dates are expected to be February 24th and 26th.

However, not everyone will get their refund on these dates. Some refunds may take longer because of:

  • Identity verification

  • Income verification

  • Dependent verification

  • Fraud prevention checks

  • System errors

If your money doesn’t arrive on time, don’t worry. Delays can happen even when everything is correct. Just be patient.

Your transcript updates only when you see "846 REFUND ISSUED." Ignore other dates. If it says "Verification Of No Tax Return Filed" but "Received" appears on Where's My Refund, you're okay; the IRS just hasn't processed it yet. Major updates will occur on Friday, and Where's My Refund will update Saturday morning. The first big funding days are 2/24 and 2/26, but you might get a deposit earlier based on your bank. If you file this week, you could still be in the first batch!
